The Cupbearer’s Dream

Good news for the cupbearer. The anticipation of redemption.

This is the hope of every human heart.

For more than twenty-five years now, I have envied Joseph’s ability to interpret dreams. I always want to know – or on second thought, maybe it’s better said that I always want to be in the know. It’s a subtle difference.

The freedom to know – to really know – is never effortless. I suppose there is a certain ironic validation in knowing that my motives are impure by virtue of my envy of knowledge.
