How Is a Christian Supposed to Live in a Hostile World?

Joshua 8:20-30

Synopsis     Joshua 8:20-30     4/23/2018

The warriors from Ai looked back and realized they had fallen into Joshua’s trap. They were destroyed and the city was plundered and burned.

The king of Ai was hanged from a tree until nightfall and then buried under a heap of stones at the entrance to the city.

Joshua then built an altar to the Lord on Mount Ebal.

Double Envelopment

The ambush sequence described in the battle of Ai was more than a mere gorilla tactic. It was an advanced pincer movement that wasn’t widely used until the time of Alexander the Great and later by Hannibal of Carthage.
