Tobit 11:14-12:6

Synopsis     Tobit 11:13-12:6     9/24/2020

Tobit was healed from blindness. His son, Tobiah, had made a medicine from the gall of a fish. And the medicine worked. So, Tobit rejoiced and blessed God for the restoration of his sight.

Afterwards, Tobit, Tobiah and Raphael all returned to the house. Once there, Tobiah told his mother and father all that had happened on his journey. He told them he had successfully gotten Tobit’s money. And, he told his parents that he had married Sarah, the daughter of their near relative Raguel.

The parents were overjoyed. And Tobit ran out to the city gate to meet Sarah as she arrived. Tobit welcomed Sarah by immediately proclaiming a second wedding feast that lasted seven days.

After all this, Tobit and Tobiah sat down to discuss the appropriate wages for Raphael.

Tobit’s Festive Joy

Tobit immediately made a wedding feast for Tobiah and Sarah. He celebrated Sarah as his new daughter-in-law. And he rejoiced at all that God had accomlished.

Festive Joy

If the Good News is really that good, then the appropriate response is to be filled with joy. God has overcome. And you are saved!

If that makes sense to you, then Rejoice!

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice!” Phil 4:4
