Everything is a Gift Given

Handwritten page from the book of Psalms chapter 102 verse 23 through chapter 104 verse 3
Psalms 102:23-104:3

Synopsis     Psalms 102:23-104:3      1/27/2022

The psalmist begged for life amid adversity, both for his present generation, and for future generations.

He realized that God forgives and heals despite the failings and shortcoming of the people. His forgiveness and healing are gifts from God.

Furthermore, God takes away sin because He knows we are feeble. He knows that we are weak and subject to foolishness and failure.

Still, God blesses generations in a special way for those who keep covenant.

Everything Is a Gift Given

Just to exist is a gift. And yet, there are times in the lives of many people that seem utterly intolerable. Even up to the point of despair and hopelessness.

So, if “just existing” really is a gift, how is it that some days my circumstances seem so hard. Why do I sometimes feel so discouraged. Why do I live in a world that seems so prone to “quiet desperation”?

Perhaps the reason is nothing more than my response to the gift.

“that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.” Matt 5:45
